As the summer music festival season draws to a close, before one last burst in September, the IFI is pleased to offer fans the opportunity to enjoy a selection of great music documentaries on the big screen, indoors, and away from the vagaries of weather and queues. The handful of films chosen for screening cover some of the most influential musicians and filmmakers of the last few decades, from Lou Reed and John Cale to Fanny, from Martin Scorsese to Spike Lee, and from the carefully constructed maelstroms of Sonic Youth to the equally deliberate silences of Talk Talk, offering a variety of options to the discerning music lover.
