In response to schools and cinema closures during 2020/21, we launched a streaming platform for schools, www.ifischools.ie.
This unique platform offers a host of film content for showing in the classroom, accessible by school pass or bundle offer. Easy to navigate and programmed according to school levels or subjects, teachers across the country can bring film into their teaching using this service.
One of the most exciting developments of the revised Junior Cycle is the designation of a number of short courses as part of students’ overall assessment. In partnership with FĺS Film in Schools and Fresh Film Festival we offer a Short Course in Film that focuses on Watching, Making and Sharing. The course is available to download here.
Now running across the school year, IFI Careers in Screen connects young people (15-18) with industry practitioners through a mix of online and in-person talks and masterclasses, running throughout the school year and made available online through our platform, IFI Careers Space.
Our Film Club pilot project ran 2017-2021, in association with Into Film (NI).
You can see the final report and recommendations here Film-Club-Final-Report (1)
IFI offers regular screenings for audiences who are deaf/hard of hearing through open captions on screen or for audiences who are blind/vision impaired through audio description.
Read about our monthly accessible screenings here and listings here and our pilot project on Accessible Cinema here.
If you would like to request captions or audio description on any of our schools shows, please get in touch schools@irishfilm.ie.
