Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is something that the IFI places huge emphasis on and is very much a part of who we are as an organisation, from both a staff perspective and in our programming. We work hard to build a diverse and inclusive environment in which people feel they belong. We are constantly evaluating and re-evaluating our process to ensure that EDI is a top priority. Some of our initiatives in this area include:

  • A variety of EDI policies.
  • We regularly review our recruitment process to identify where we need to broaden our recruitment channels and analyse recruitment data to ensure we are as inclusive as possible.
  • Our gender pay gap currently stands at 2.8%. We have decided to report on and publish our gender pay gap earlier than required for a company of our size as we are keen progress in this area and are committed to reducing this further.
  • We set departmental EDI targets, which we make available to all staff to show tangible progress in this area.
  • We have developed a number of policies designed to ensure more flexibility for staff and greater support when they need it such as the introduction of a menopause policy and bereavement leave in the event of a miscarriage. We are continuously developing and expanding our range of policies in this area.
  • We take any breaches of our EDI policies very seriously and take a very active approach to making staff aware of their obligations under the bullying and harassment policy as well as encouraging an active bystander culture in which people feel empowered to speak up on behalf of others.
  • We run regular talks and workshops that aim to promote awareness around EDI issues.
  • We have an inclusive language guide in place to support staff to be mindful of the language they are using.

The IFI is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. If you need assistance, or an accommodation, as part of the recruitment process please let us know in advance by contacting jobs@irishfilm.ie.

Development and opportunities

We actively encourage our staff to apply for internal vacancies and advertise all our vacancies internally to ensure everyone is aware of potential development opportunities. We use pay scales to ensure that people can see progress as they develop in their careers with the IFI. All employees have access to apply for relevant training related to their objectives for the year.
