This wide-ranging selection of Irish short films is by far the most diverse on the website. From the earliest films made by the pioneering Kalem Company in Cork and Kerry between 1910 and 1914 to the most recent drama and documentary shorts made for big and small screens in the present day, the selection showcases the preoccupations of new and established filmmakers working in the short film form. The thematic variety is matched by a stylistic diversity ranging from radical experimentation to family entertainment, whilst quality can be measured by the multitude of accolades garnered - not least Academy Award nominations and victories. These films will enhance any feature programme or indeed may be presented within a full programme of shorts.
