Due to phenomenal demand the Irish Film Institute has added a third and final 70mm screening of Tim Burton’s 1989 classic Batman! Don’t miss out on this rare chance to see Michael Keaton as the Dark Knight and Jack Nicholson grinning maniacally as The Joker in this wide 70mm presentation on Thursday, March 30th.
Tim Burton defined Batman for a generation, taking him back to his darker origins after its long association with the 1960s TV series starring Adam West. Michael Keaton stars as the Dark Knight of Gotham City, waging war on his archenemy, The Joker, played by Jack Nicholson in one of the most memorable performances.
The Irish Film Institute is Ireland’s only cinema with 70mm capabilities. With over three times the level of detail of 35mm and approximately double the detail of 4K digital, this is truly the ideal film going experience. Previous 70mm screenings at the IFI have included Vertigo, Baraka, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Die Hard and recent sell-out screenings of The Hateful Eight and The Master.
IFI 70mm screenings are presented with the support of Expert Air.
Tickets for this extra screening are now on sale from www.ifi.ie and the IFI Box Office – 01 6793477. Tickets are priced at €12 (€10 for members).
