The Irish Film Institute will be the only place in Ireland to see Joker on 70mm, opening on October 4th 2019.
The new film from director Todd Phillips stars Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, a man struggling to find his way in Gotham’s fractured society. What follows is a totally unique take on the mythology behind the famed DC character of Joker, with the film already the winner of the Golden Lion at this year’s Venice Film Festival.
The IFI is home to Ireland’s only 70mm projector and we’re thrilled to be able to show Joker in this unique format, in spectacular detail and with supreme sound quality to show off the film in the best possible way.
Tickets for the first screenings will go on sale on Friday September 20th. Joker opens on Friday October 4th 2019.
