OTHER HALLOWE’EN EVENTS AT THE IFI

We have a number of brain-splattered, intestine-tangling and blood-curdling events that are taking place over the coming weeks in advance of this year’s IFI Horrorthon Festival programme. First up we have FROM THE VAULTS: DAUGHTERS OF DARKNESS on October 15th at 18.30, this gothic horror from 1948 gave Siobhan McKenna her first starring role and the British B-movie director Lance Comfort presents an early instance of the rare villain, the female serial killer. Next up we have the IFI Family screening of THE LITTLE VAMPIRE on October 26th at 11.00, it is time to sharpen your fangs and put on your favourite scary outfit and see if you can terrify us here in the IFI for the Parade of Vampires! One of the most evergreen of science-fiction films, INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS has been remade and still an effectively scary film, this is a welcome reissue for Hallowe’en. Join us for the opening screening on Hallowe’en night – October 31st. Finally another event and one which is FREE this month is the OCTOBER’S ARCHIVE AT LUNCHTIME and with Hallowe’en looming, we present two ghost stories produced by impresarios Micheál MacLiammóir and Hilton Edwards. Hallowe’en is just around the corner and we have gory treats for everyone to sink their teeth into this October!
