The new IFI Education Schools Programme for Spring/Summer 2014 has arrived. Aimed at pupils from Primary Cycle right up to Leaving Cert, the programme is packed with brilliant films and learning opportunities that provide curriculum support and film education.
For the first time, the programme includes a recorded NT Live performance of the multi-award winning War Horse from the National Theatre in London which tells the story of an extraordinary journey of a horse in World War I using incredible life-size puppets.
There is also a special Transition Year screening of recent Irish documentary Broken Song: telling the story of three rappers and musicians from North Dublin. The screening is followed by a workshop for individual students (max 12. participants) with two of the most talented Hip-Hop artists in the country.
Other highlights include a free preview screening of Muppets Most Wanted and a celebration of World Book Day with a collection of short films for younger viewers, Stories on Screen. This screening is followed by a Character Design Workshop with children’s writer and illustrator Adrienne Geoghegan (book separately).
For full details, locations, dates and times of all the films in the IFI Schools Progamme please visit the IFI Education webpage and download a full PDF of the programme.
