Terence Davies was part of a generation of nascent directors that included Peter Greenaway and Sally Potter who were supported by the British Film Institute. Unlike some of his peers he continues to produce films of the highest quality and is regularly fêted by some admirers as Britain’s greatest living filmmaker.
The IFI, in partnership with Darklight, is delighted to welcome Terence Davies to Dublin to present three of his films as part of the Darklight Festival on August 24th and 25th; The Deep Blue Sea (Friday, 18.30), The Long Day Closes (Saturday, 14.00), and House of Mirth (Saturday, 16.00).
To celebrate his visit to the IFI, we’re delighted to offer two pairs of tickets to each of Saturday’s screenings: The Long Day Closes at 14.00 and House of Mirth at 16.00. Both films will be introduced by Terence Davies.
To be in with a chance to see these films and hear about Davies’ experiences making them, simply pick the screening you’d like to attend and submit your contact details before 5pm, Friday August 24th.
