This month’s IFI Monthly Must-See Cinema screening was a truly special one – on the 40th anniversary of its release, we were showing Deliverance with an introduction (and a few funny anecdotes!) by the director himself, the legendary John Boorman – see some photos on our Facebook Page. Deliverance packs as powerful a punch as ever, particularly when seen, as it has been by many for the first time, on the big screen in glorious 35mm.
The title comes from the collection which we are honoured to preserve in the climate-controlled vaults of the IFI Irish Film Archive.
