THE HOME OF FILM IN IRELAND NEEDS A NEW ROOF

Support the 2023 IFI Atrium Roof Appeal

In 2019, the IFI launched a campaign to transform parts of our historic 18th century home in Temple Bar. With public and private support, we were able to greatly enhance the audience experience, refurbishing Cinemas 1 and 2 with new seats, improved legroom, new carpet, and better acoustic panelling. We also made less visible but essential upgrades to building systems, and temporary repairs to the foyer’s glass atrium roof.

We will soon commence the final phase to our building improvements, undertaking complete replacement of the atrium roof. Ad-hoc, temporary repairs made through the years are failing, and permanently eliminating the roof’s substantial leaks requires complete removal and installation of new glazing, framing and valley gutters, and thermal/structural upgrades of the existing supporting steel structure. The total cost for this project is €300,000 and work is expected to take approximately 8 weeks to complete, with the IFI remaining open throughout.
