JOE COMERFORD RETROSPECTIVE GOES WORLDWIDE ON IFI INTERNATIONAL

August 24th 2023: The Irish Film Institute (IFI) is delighted to present the retrospective of Irish filmmaker Joe Comerford’s films online on IFI International (www.ifiinternational.ie), now available to rent for just €4.99 each, with a full season pass available. This international online presentation of Comerford’s work follows the films’ exhibition on nationwide platform IFI@Home, and an in-cinema retrospective at the IFI in May. It features Down the CornerTravellerHigh Boot BennyReefer and the Model and a short film programme.Comerford’s film career has followed a sweep through time and forms of filmmaking. Alternating between feature films with a narrative bias, and experimental shorts which at times incorporate abstract painted imagery, he has declared that his longer-term objective is to tell a story by combining the two strands into a ‘painted feature’.Each film is presented on IFI International with bonus content from Comerford foregrounding the films in an artistic and historic context. This bonus introduction is available to view upon renting each title, from anywhere in the world.

Rentals cost €4.99 each, or regional equivalent, with all four features and the shorts programme available to rent as a bundle for €19.99:  https://www.ifiinternational.ie/page/joe-comerford/
