The IFI@Belltable programme launched at the Lime Tree Theatre in Limerick, kicking off a yearlong collaboration which will bring a weekly film from the IFI in Dublin to local audiences.
I, Daniel Blake made for a stirring first entry in the programme, which was announced back in December 2016. Every week throughout January and beyond, the IFI@Belltable lineup will present the best of cultural cinema. Future releases include Captain Fantastic, After Love and Paterson.
IFI Director Ross Keane was on hand for the inaugural screening at the state of the art cinema in the centre of Limerick city. Here he is enjoying a movie-appropriate cup of tea with Belltable’s Programme Manager Marketa Dowling.
And Ross also had the chance to introduce the film, starting a partnership which will continue throughout 2017.
The theatre was jam packed for I, Daniel Blake, and we’re hoping these audience members will be back for more.
After the screening the response online was hugely positive, with some already looking for the programme to be expanded!
