ROCK ‘N’ ROLL CINEMA

FROM JULY 21ST

In the month that Asif Kapadia’s eagerly awaited Amy gets its cinema release (showing at the IFI from June 30th), the IFI presents a supporting programme of brand new music docs featuring fascinating characters condemned to rock ‘n’ roll.

Julien Temple’s moving portrait of Wilko Johnson reunites the pair after Temple presented Dr. Feelgood’s story so brilliantly in Oil City Confidential; the riotous story of The Damned, as told by filmmaker Wes Orshoski, is a tale of wrong turns and bad blood, but also has humour and a fantastic soundtrack; and Salad Days is the celebration of an influential scene that produced such precious music that many would find it hard to live without.
