Back in 2007, Cristian Mungiu’s 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days was among the first harbingers of the New Romanian Cinema, and he reaffirms his mastery with this new film, Beyond the Hills, pitting individual yearnings versus the monolithic values of an implacable institution. Its leads, Cristina Flutur and Cosmina Stratan, deservedly shared Best Actress at Cannes, making a heart-rending contribution to this powerful drama based on an actual exorcism which took place in 2005.
We are delighted to be screening Beyond the Hills from Friday March 15th and to celebrate, we have a DVD and a poster of Mungiu’s 4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days as well as a Beyond the Hills poster to give away to one lucky winner! All thanks to Artificial Eye.
Simply answer this question before midnight Monday March 18th 2013.
