THE CRITICAL TAKE: CINEMA OF PROTEST

This event took place on Monday 31st August 2015. 

The Critical Take is a free event that takes place at the end of every month when a panel of three invited speakers initiate an open discussion about three films from the IFI programme.

Join our panel on August 31st for a special edition of The Critical Take when we discuss and consider three of the films screening as part of this month’s season on protest cinema: Sergei Eisenstein’s Strike (screening August 4th); Gillo Pontecorvo’s Battle of Algiers (August 13th); and Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing (August 25th).

This month’s panel includesfilmmaker Tadhg O’Sullivan and Artist, filmmaker and co-founder of PLASTIK Festival of Artists’ Moving Image, Jenny Brady and Nigel Wheatley from Spooool.ie.

This event is FREE and open to all to attend and to take part.
