John Boorman’s sequel to his semi-autobiographical tale, Hope and Glory, is this poignant drama in which a grown up Bill Rohan has been drafted into the army in post-war Britain.

Where the much earlier film centred on life during the Blitz, this is a quieter affair, in which rationing and the draft were realities. But rather than willing acceptance, these young men were starting to question their military officers, while seeking out a good time and developing a fascination with cinema.

Tickets: €4.25 including regular tea/coffee before the event. Wild Strawberries is our film club for over 55s. If you are lucky enough to look younger please don’t take offence if we ask your age.
