IFI International Film Screening Request Form

Please complete the information below with all requested information, otherwise your request will not be progressed. Please note that this information is required by the rights holders of the film in order to clear the film and calculate the screening fees.

IFI International operates a schedule at least 12-16 weeks ahead of screening dates and reserves the right to decline screening requests where there is not an adequate lead-in time as this may impact on services to events already on the schedule, or where we are operating at full capacity.

We cannot clear screening requests for online screenings on third-party platforms which do not have DRM-enabled technology. Please contact emelinn@irishfilm.ie for further advice if you are unsure of the security features of your event’s online platform.

Please note:

  • The IFI International programme is funded by Culture Ireland. The core funder of IFI is Arts Council Ireland. IFI, Culture Ireland and Arts Council Ireland logos must be carried on publicity materials, printed, online, and onscreen idents. You may occasionally be required to carry additional logos.
  • You are required to complete a short Feedback Form within 10 working days of the end of your event which must include audience numbers for each screening. This forms part of IFI International’s contractual reporting obligations under the Programme Delivery Agreement with Culture Ireland, the programme funder.
  • The period from January to end of April is the busiest for IFI International, with the majority of events scheduled in March and April around international St. Patrick’s Day festivals.
  • You must inform us immediately if your screening date or venue changes or if the event is cancelled.
  • It may take some time to clear screening rights and negotiate fees with sales agents and/or distributors. If clearances are proving problematic in the given time-frame you will be advised to choose an alternative film.
  • During the major film festivals and markets [Berlinale, Cannes, Venice, Sundance, TIFF] sales agents and distributors may not be available therefore the clearance process will take longer. Where sales agents are in negotiations with distributors films may also not be available for festival screenings.
  • Your request will be added to IFI International’s Production and Delivery Schedule and handled in order of priority, and towards the festival start date – if your event has an earlier deadline it is your responsibility to inform us in a timely manner.
  • Most sales agents and distributors will supply encrypted DCPs. Where IFI produces DCPs, these will be encrypted. If IFI has been supplied an unencrypted DCP by the filmmaker, this will remain unencrypted.
