Straddling a divide between horror and American teen films, Boy Eats Girl has director Stephen Bradley unleash a plague of zombies on the hormonal students of a suburban Dublin school. Brought back from the dead after an accidental death, lovelorn teenager Nathan (David Leon) quickly discovers all is not as it should be; alongside his unrequited passion for classmate Jessica (Samantha Mumba)he now feels a sudden craving for human flesh. His gruesome appetites prove contagious and Nathan quickly spreads the infection throughout his adolescent friends. His beloved Jessica must save the town from being overrun by teenage zombies. Despite aiming principally to entertain this horror-comedy garnered some controversy upon release, due to its humorous treatment of dark themes.
