Diving into the world of traditional Irish music Natural Grace reveals the life and art of one of Ireland’s great modern proponents of the genre: celebrated fiddler Martin Hayes. Interviews and performances tell the story of a man who took from his musical childhood in Clare an awareness that Irish music needed to grow and change if it were to retain the vibrancy it had for him as a youth. To this end Hayes is seen to have combined an international spirit with the music of his locality, travelling from New York to Japan as he plays to an international audience. These performances, in locations ranging from rural cottages to concert halls, are highlights of this documentary which tells the story of a man’s passion for music.
