Building a new life in the west of Ireland after a series of miscarriages, the emotionally scarred Sophie (Geraldine Somerville) finds herself falling into a place between madness and the supernatural in this chilling short. When left alone in their famine-era house by partner Conor (Stuart Graham), Sophie strikes up a relationship with an ethereal girl whose presence fulfils her desire for a child. Presenting a portrait of madness and the unknown, The Girl moves between the real and the impossible in an exploration of how traumatic experience can haunt the psyche of an individual.
