Takasera, a village in Western Nepal, is settled on a hill above an ancient lakebed, composed of hundreds of tightly interwoven houses, giving an appearance of a giant buzzing bee-hive. Surrounded by mountains, and connected only by a dead-end dirt road, it leads a life of its own. To the outside world it may seem an isolated and forgotten place, but Takasera is in fact the centre of Kham Magar culture, and a former Maoist strong hold, that played an important role in the Maoist revolution that ended a decade ago. This gently-paced, observational documentary follows the everyday life of the village.
