Life’s crises are turned into opportunities to grow in this drama which has two women living on either side of Atlantic try set to right the troubles in their lives. Her son dead in a motorcycle accident, Marilyn (Andie MacDowell) is offered a path through her grief when a chance phonecall to Irishwoman Ria (Olivia Williams) – herself struggling with a painful separation – provides both with the opportunity to swap houses and try living in the other’s shoes. As Marilyn comes to know Ireland and Ria opens up to America both find new perspectives on life, discovering new ways to be joyful. Alongside the leading pair is a rich cast including Irish actors such as Brenda Fricker, Stephen Rea and Iain Glen, whilst American comedian Ruby Wax also appears. Moving and funny, Tara Road is an uplifting story about two women who seize a second chance at life.
