ALAMAR

Director: Pedro Gonzales-Rubio

A blend of documentary and drama, this is a gentle story of father-son bonding in the stunningly beautiful setting of Blanco Chinchorro, a coral reef off the coast of Mexico. 5-year-old Natan, leaves his mother, and his home in Italy, to holiday with his Mexican father. Together they spend a sun-filled idyllic summer. Natan learns the names of the fish his father and grandfather catch. He befriends a wild egret and feeds crocodiles from his al fresco dining room. Based on real-life events, with a cast playing themselves, the director nevertheless leaves it up to us to decide if this is truly fact or fiction.
