Filmmaker Roger Michell is no stranger to stories of older love and romance. In this bittersweet tale, Jim Broadbent and Lindsay Duncan play a long-married couple who return to Paris in an attempt to rekindle their love. However, passion and glamour are far from present as their old hotel turns out to be a dump and the warmth between them is tempered by resentment. It’s clear that they now want different things, and yet we will these convincing and appealing characters to find a way together in the City of Light.
