WILD STRAWBERRIES: IT’S COMPLICATED

Director: Nancy Meyers

120 minutes| U.S.| 2009| Drama/Comedy

Wild Strawberries is our bimonthly film club for the over 55s.

With May’s screening of Julie & Julia proving so popular, we’re bringing Meryl back for some summertime laughter in this hit film starring the great actress as Jane, a successful, divorced bakery owner whose ex-husband Jake (Alec Baldwin) re-enters her life in unexpected and not unpleasant ways! Meeting up for their son’s graduation, a martini with a twist starts a highly eventful evening that leaves her confused and him wondering why he left her 10 years ago for the much younger Agness. Trysts and near discoveries follow as the pair reacquaint, while Jane’s budding relationship with the smitten but apprehensive Adam (a deadpan Steve Martin) is looking like it could flourish, if it wasn’t for Jake snapping at her heels.

There are plenty of laughs in this hit comedy by the director of Something’s Gotta Give and What Women Want.

€4 including regular tea/coffee.
