Hollywood legends Robert Duvall and Bill Murray play perfectly opposite each other in this part fable, part real-life legend set in 1930s rural Tennessee. Duvall is the reclusive Felix who asks the local undertaker, Frank (Murray), to organise his funeral while he’s still alive. Felix is going to uncover his dark past at the big funeral bash that Murray and his sidekick, Buddy, set about organising. Into the picture comes Mattie, the brillant Sissie Spacek, as Felix’s former sweetheart. There’s also Rev Charlie Jackson, brought in from Illinois, and the only person who knows what really happened that night long ago when Felix ran from a house fire. Get Low is gentle, dry and heartwarming, and not without something to say about community, friendship, love and loss.
