The daily journey to school can be an effort, but for children living in the heart of Yunnan’s Gongshan Mountain, being able to walk to school is something they can only dream about; their only mode of transport involves sliding over a dangerous gorge using a rusty cable. Young Naxiang manages the feat, but her brother Wawa is deemed too young. Desperate to learn, however, he secretly makes the hazardous journey so he can eavesdrop on Naxiang’s lessons. A debut feature with breathtaking visuals by brothers Chen and Jiahuang Peng. School groups welcome.
