‘Keeping it Real’: The Fictions and Non-Fictions of Film and Television in Modern Ireland is an international conference that will take place at the IFC and UCD during April 19-21. A range of speakers, including Elizabeth Butler-Cullingford, Lance Pettitt, John Hill, Kevin Rockett and Martin McLoone will give papers and chair panels on aspects of Irish cinema, television and broadcasting policy. Topics will cover immigration, the Irish in America, representations of Northern Ireland, Irish language broadcasting, gender issues, film and television theory. The conference will also include archival screenings and presentations of new work on film. It is being organised by the Centre for Film Studies/School of Film, UCD.
