States of Fear: Disability
This programme focuses on the experiences of the thousands of children who grew up in hospitals, and institutions for the blind, the deaf, and for those with learning and physical disabilities. A deeply disturbing pattern emerges of serious abuse of these most vulnerable children.

States of Fear: Legacy examines the much more recent (at the time of broadcast in 1999) experiences of children consigned to institutional care in Ireland, and reveals patterns of abuse and secrecy relatively unchanged since the dark days of the industrial schools.
