SON OF RAMBOW

Director: GARTH JENNINGS

96 MINS, UK/France/Germany, 2007 , Comedy.

One of the ten prescribed films on the new Junior Certificate English course, this charming drama set in 1980s England follows schoolboys Will and Lee, who meet by chance in a school hallway. Lee asks Will to help him make a homemade action movie, inspired by Sylvester Stallone’s hit, Rambo: First Blood. Will, who lives in a strict religious environment, is only too happy to oblige his new friend. Themes of friendship, childhood alienation and acceptance are explored as their story unfolds.
