SMALL ENGINE REPAIR

Director: NIALL HEERY

IRELAND-U.K. • 2006 • COLOUR • 98 MIN.

Set around a small country community in the North of Ireland, Small Engine Repair is the story of a group of men going nowhere. Doug (Iain Glen) thinks he’s a country singer. He daydreams of being heard on the local radio station, or playing his mate’s bar to prove to local doubters he has some worth. His best friend is a worn out mechanic (Steven Mackintosh) who’s desperate to persuade his son (Laurence Kinlan) not to leave the family business, the small engine repair shop of the title. Director Niall Heery’s debut feature is a deeply affecting character study and portrait of male vulnerability.CLICK HERE TO BOOK
