Irish Film Institute -SHARP FOCUS FILM PROGRAMME

SHARP FOCUS FILM PROGRAMME

Sharp Focus is a programme of films produced by Calipo Theatre & Picture Company, written and directed by established filmmakers working with community and youth groups in Northern Ireland and the border counties between 2003 and 2013. The project brought together teenagers from Northern Ireland and the Southern border counties to work on films exploring their identity within their own community, and later exploring the legacy of conflict in Northern Ireland.

The project was funded by the EU Peace & Reconciliation Programme. The films were acquired and preserved by the IFI Irish Film Archive with support from the Government of Ireland’s Shared Island Initiative and the Department of the Taoiseach.

The event includes screenings + discussion on community filmmaking.

Tickets for this special event will cost €5.
