Head of IFI Education Alicia McGivern introduce this screening and will be joined by Aoife McGrane from the Gate Theatre.

Run Lola Run burst onto the education programme at the IFI after its cinema run. As one of IFI Education’s most popular titles ever, this highly energetic film was toured to some 20 venues around the country. Screenings, from the IFI to Dundalk to Letterkenny to Limerick and Waterford, resounded with applause and enthusiasm for Lola’s race against the clock. For many students, this was their first cinematic experience of a subtitled film and Lola’s red hair and Tykwer’s innovative style won them over.

If you saw the film as a school student, IFI Education would love to hear from you. (Notes by Alicia McGivern.)

This film is screening as part of 20/20: Landmark Films at the IFI which is part of IFI20: Celebrating 20 Years in Temple Bar.
