Director: QUENTIN DUPIEUX

Memorably described as ‘Roger Corman by way of Samuel Beckett’ (a comparison that would have Beckett spinning in his grave), this story of a tyre called Robert who comes to life and develops an insatiable appetite for women from director Quentin Dupieux (better known as techno superstar Mr. Oizo), certainly answers calls for absurdity. With stunning cinematography and an unarguably cool soundtrack, the film remains highly sophisticated despite its playful tone. While it’s unfortunate that Robert’s affection for women manifests in his inexplicable ability to blow their heads off, it’s good news for audiences who’d be ill-advised to miss this.
