Roger and Me

Director: Michael Moore

Michael Moore’s hilarious and scathing film traces the decline of his home town of Flint, Michigan, after General Motors systematically closed down plants and laid off thousands of car workers. The action spans three years as Moore, camera team in tow, tracks G.M. chairman Roger Smith in order to confront him with the human consequences of corporate policy. Moore also outlines the changes that have beset the town over the years and intersperses on-camera interviews with assorted locals, celebrities and executives.
U.S.A., 1989. Colour/Black and white. 90 mins.
