The Videos that Rock programme is a rollicking survey of rock-orientated projects, with a good number of animated videos. In Year of the Rat from Monkmus, a man and his dog spread affection through streets of urban despair, while Dougal Wilson’s Three Girl Rhumba for Klonhertz is, in the director’s words, ‘a video made of paper.’ Perennial favourite Michel Gondry (director of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) returns with Walkie Talkie Man for Steriogram, and there’s new work from Jonas Odell (Take Me Out: Franz Ferdinand), Chris Hopewell (Equus: Blonde Redhead), Plates Animation (So Says I: The Shins), Kuntzel & Deygas (Come Home Billy Bird: The Divine Comedy) and dozens of others.
