OUTSOURCED

We’re pleased to present the Irish premiere of this romantic comedy about a Seattle Call Centre manager who discovers life and love in India when he’s ‘outsourced’. Todd Anderson (Josh Hamilton) manages the call centre of Western Novelty: ‘We sell kitsch to rednecks,’ he says with typical efficiency. Abruptly told that his entire department is being outsourced to India, Todd finds himself persuaded to travel there and train his replacement. Loss of face, cultural misunderstanding and romance ensue in this fish-out-of-water comedy with a serious theme. Fans of Slumdog Millionaire and Bollywood will love this film, which has much to say about the effects of globalisation on our working environment and human relations.

Talk by Chris Garlock, Washington DC Labour Film Festival.
