NEVER FORGET TIBET

Director: Jean-Paul Mertinez

94 mins, UK, 2022, Digital, Subtitled

One of the most significant moments of 20th-century history, Never Forget Tibet tells the secret story of the Dalai Lama’s journey into exile told in his own words for the first time on film through exclusive access to the Dalai Lama and the previously unknown private diary of the Indian political officer who led him to safety, Har Mander Singh. Incorporating interviews with the Dalai Lama’s family, the Tibetan Community living in Exile and those with historic ties to Tibet, this culturally significant story offers insights into the importance of our shared worldwide humanity and reveals the incredible details of the Dalai Lama’s escape and his wider message of compassion first hand. It also documents the rich art, culture, and traditions of the region. The film explores the Dalai Lama’s compassion for a world seemingly in crisis today and seeks to find what can be learnt from his inspirational life story, Tibetan culture and its ancient spirituality.

Dr Deepak Chopra, New York Times best selling author and long time friend of His Holiness Dalai Lama, has provided a special meditation for peace to celebrate the theatrical release of this historic documentary, which is exclusive to cinemas and will be shown before the film.
