LIFE OF PI

Director: Ang Lee

127 min

Director Ang Lee’s multi-Oscar-nominated new film is an adaptation of Yann Martel’s Booker Prize-winning novel. Shot in 3D, its technical brilliance is evident throughout – from the stormy seas which sink the ship on which Pi and his family are travelling to the US, to the CGI animals which spring to life on board the raft on which he is stranded. The story operates on a number of levels: as an allegory of faith, as a tale of human endurance, as a myth and, above all, as the work of a master filmmaker.

Screening as part of the IFI Education 2013 Spring/Summer Programme
