Jump Tomorrow

A genuinely sweet and charming film, Jump Tomorrow follows the travails of four individuals thrown together by chance as they search for love. George (Tunde Adebimpe), a hugely shy and awkward introvert, meets Alicia (Natalia Verbeke), a stunning Latina, at the airport where he waits to meet the bride who has been arranged for him. Alicia invites him to a party that night, where George also meets her boyfriend, a pompous Englishman who tells him that they are on their way to Niagara, where George must also go in order to attend his own wedding. At the same time, George meets George (Hippolyte Girardot), a lovesick Frenchman who has just been dumped yet again. Spotting George’s obvious infatuation with Alicia, and his struggle of conscience between his sense of duty to his bride-to-be and his desire for Alicia, this Frenchman determines to do everything he can to bring the two together, believing that his path to true love lies in helping George find his. Thus begins an eccentric road trip as the two men cross America searching for love. Joel Hopkins’s film is a delight, and a perfect date movie.
