JDIFF: IRISH FILM BOARD SHORTS

The Jameson Dublin International Film Festival is very pleased to present this showcase of new work in the short film format. The programme features both established and up-and-coming filmmakers and exemplifies the diverse range of talent, technical expertise and innovative styles which have already been recognised both in Ireland and internationally.
1. Shapes Director – Alan Brennan
Claire’s night terrors are taking their toll on her relationship with Will. Scared that he’s leaving her, Claire seeks assurance that everything is fine and there’s no monster in the bedroom. (5 min)

2. Granny O’Grimms Sleeping Beauty
Director – Nicky Phelan
Granny O’Grimm, a seemingly sweet old lady, loses the plot as she tells her version of Sleeping Beauty to her terrified granddaughter. (5 min)

3. Hoor Director – John Kennedy
The story of three young lads paying a visit to the local prostitute in order to lose their virginity. (3 min)

4. An Ranger Director – PJ Dillon
Connemara, 1854, five years after the Great Famine. Following many years abroad in the service of the British Army, a soldier returns home to find that his family members are all dead. (10 min)

5. The Door
Director – Juanita Wilson
Set in 1986 Russia, The Door is based on the true story of a father and his young daughter. (17 min)

6. Of Best Intentions
Director:Brian Durnin
A film that examines the lives of
five well-meaning individuals as fate decides to intervene. (14 min)

7. Spacemen Three
Director: Hugh O’Conor
Astro-geologist Dr. Glen Hosey is in space for the first time. (12 min)

8. Colour Contamination
Director: Louise Bagnall
A clean cut business man who is adverse to all things colourful enters a waiting room filled with colourful plastic chairs. (3 min)

9. The Rooster, The Crocodile and The Night Sky
Director: Padraig Fagan
