IRELAND ON SUNDAY: TONIGHT IS CANCELLED Director: Brendan Grant 85 minutes| Ireland| 2007| Colour| 35mm| Subtitled Book cinema tickets This film screened 26th April 2010. Ireland on Sunday is our monthly showcase for new Irish film. An opportunity for Dublin audiences to see the first feature from talented Irish director Brendan Grant. Tonight is Cancelled, produced by Fastnet Films (Colony, Nothing Personal), is the first Irish-Kosovar co-production. An Irish filmmaker (Mark O’Halloran) travels to battle-scarred Kosovo to tell the love story of a young man kidnapped during the war and the girl he left behind. As he attempts to get his film off the ground, the decision to cast the unwilling lovers as themselves blurs the boundary between reality and fiction. This beautifully elliptical drama, told with great visual flair, marks the debut of a significant new Irish talent. Producer Macdara Kelleher will join us for a post-screening Q&A.
