In celebration of Black History Month 2023, Unapologetic introduces a programme of shorts touching on themes of invisibility and ambiguity on Irish screens.

Oftentimes stories from marginalised communities are misrepresented and/or left out. With this programme we want to highlight works by marginalised communities across Ireland whose work tackles identity and belonging from various perspectives. The programme includes work by Esosa Ighodaro; Zainab Boladale’s Worthy (2023); Pradeep Mahadeshwar’s Skin To Skin Talks: Gay Men of Color and The Racial Politics of Exclusion (2023); and Aisha Bolaji’s Faaji (2023). We will also introduce works by participants of the Wideshot Programme facilitated by Gorm Media.
