IFI & SET COLLECTIVE: TINY FURNITURE

Director: Lena Dunham

98 minutes, U.S.A., 2010, Colour, D-Cinema

To coincide with the release of the third edition of their quarterly publication on the relationship between cinema and its architecture, the IFI is pleased to collaborate once again with the SET Collective to present this screening of Lena Dunham’s Tiny Furniture. Having returned home to her family’s Tribeca loft after finishing college, Aura, played by Dunham, struggles in an endearing but haphazard way to find her feet.

As well as establishing what has since become her familiar on-screen presence in Girls, the film is also striking in the way in which it uses space to convey a number of inter-connected ideas about both physical and psychological boundaries.

IFI has changed from a monthly schedule to a weekly schedule. Screening times of New Releases and IFI Classics will now be announced on a weekly basis. Read our news item here.
