In collaboration with the Irish Modern Dance Theatre, we present a programme of new Irish dance films as part of the Dancer from the Dance Festival of Irish Choreography.

Following the creation of an ambitious, island-wide dance project in which four choreographers – one in each province of Ireland – are commissioned by Luail, Ireland’s new national and all-island dance company – to make site-specific works rooted in land, memory, and belonging. Through movement, music, and place, the film becomes a portrait of an island in flux.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Nicky Larkin hosted by John Scott (Director, Irish Modern Dance Theatre).

The first programme in the festival, New Irish Dance Shorts, screens on Monday, July 6th.
