IFI & CULTURE NIGHT: THE BOY FROM MERCURY (FREE EVENT)

Director: Martin Duffy

87 minutes, Ireland, 1996

The IFI celebrates Culture Night with a free screening of classic family-friendly Irish film The Boy from Mercury. Directed by Martin Duffy and set in 1960s Dublin, it’s the tale of Harry, a little boy who feeds his imagination with a diet of Flash Gordon at his local cinema until he believes he too is from outer space.

Simply book your FREE seat by contacting the IFI Box Office on 01 679 3477 or emailing boxoffice@irishfilm.ie (given that events can sell out, please note that your emailed booking requests must be confirmed by reply email from the Box Office in order to be considered valid).

Also, join us on September 20th for FREE guided tours of the IFI Irish Film Archive to find out from staff what goes on behind the scenes and how we look after Ireland’s national film collection. Tours are at 17.00 and 18.30 (space is limited so places will be given on a first come, first served basis).

IFI has changed from a monthly schedule to a weekly schedule. Screening times of New Releases and IFI Classics will now be announced on a weekly basis. Read our news item here.
