I am of Ireland – an adaptation of the works of WB Yeats.

LEAVING CERT POETRY/DRAMA
A unique opportunity to hear the words of WB Yeats delivered by the gifted Irish actor, Bosco Hogan. Yeats was a storyteller, romantic singer, man of the theatre and explorer of the occult. Born in Dublin in 1865, he went onto win the Nobel prize for poetry in 1923. Living through the struggle for Independence and the Civil War, these events influenced some of his greatest work.

Originally performed with music by Grainne and Caitriona Yeats for the Abbey theatre, the piece has been superbly recorded and we are delighted to screen a one-hour version of this film. This will be presented by the actor Bosco Hogan and followed by a student workshop on some of the prescribed Yeats poems for the Leaving Certificate.
