Although unfairly dismissed by some critics as a fluffy remake of The Philadelphia Story, Charles Walters’ 1956 musical has since become a popular classic in its own right. The slim story of a spoilt heiress and her romantic misadventures in the days leading up to her wedding is bolstered by such wonderful Cole Porter songs as ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire?’ ‘True Love’ and ‘Well Did You Evah’ and the energetic performances from a cast which includes Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Celeste Holm and Louis Armstrong.
