In recent years the face of Ireland has been transformed beyond recognition. New constituencies of migrant workers from Africa, Asia and eastern Europe contribute to the work force. Shot over a period of two years, this observational film is an intimate portrait of a gay Filipino nurse and the expression of his political activism. It captures the life of Fidel Taguinod; immigrant, nurse, union activist, with his friend and his Irish partner, and aspects of his bakla (gay) identity in performances like Miss Alternative Philippines and Diva Manila.
Directors Alan Grossman and Aine O’Brien will be in attendance along with the film’s star, Fidel Taguinod.
